Although the paint on this pic looks bad, it is due to lighting conditions. I still however hate how the paint job turned out. Although the color is really nice, the gloss finish is just not there.  It was cold and even raining on some of the days I painted. I also experimented with starting from a wet sanded PAINTED surface vs. a wet sanded PRIMED ONLY surface. I got what I worked for so I should not complain: A paint job in 2 days with fair gloss. The timing cover is a better representation of the actual color. It is not a dull pink as the pictures incorrectly show. I guess the metal flake on 6 coats of paint are still too reflective for a good picture under artificial light.

and that leaves us here for now.  Just need to true rims and all will be complete.  I'll be on the road soon!

And, finally, after 10 months of labor pains, my new baby...

I am not completely finished yet.  There are still details to be taken care of.  This was just the first time in 10 months that the bike touched the ground again.  I still haven't installed the rear brake cable or mirrors.  The mirrors have already been secured from E-bay and as soon as the cable is ready, I'll be tuning her to ride!!  Just the perfect weather down here in Florida this time of year.  Can' wait!!
