A Branch of My Family Tree
My Grandfather rode an early 1940's Indian Chief.
All these pics were taken during WWII at 112th and Broadway in New York
City. Notice there are no cars on the streets in the background.
There were some war time laws about car traffic and parking that had to
be followed. My grandfather's duties required he have a siren on the bike.
My mother is the baby girl in the picture with
my Grandmother. Notice the suicide shifter on the right side (not
the left side like the Harley's of the time).
My Great Aunt Carmen. My mom, wife, mother
in law, and several aunts are named Carmen also. Notice the blacked
out taillight and headlight at this time but not in the previous pics.
I wonder whatever happened to this bike?
